BEIJING (AFP) - Deena Kastor dealt a huge blow to the United States hopes of a medal in the women's marathon here on Sunday as the 2004 Olympic bronze medallist dropped out of the race after just 5 kilometres.
The 35-year-old 2006 London Marathon champion appeared to stumble and moved to the sidewalk where she sat down and clutched her foot.
She tried to get going again but to no avail and called it quits.
