Bears kicker Robbie Gould signs new five-year deal

Chicago Bears place kicker Robbie Gould has signed a new five-year contract extension, the NFL team said on Monday. Gould was working for a construction company just three years ago when he was invited for a tryout by the Bears and he has since gone on to become the most accurate field goal kicker in the franchise's history. No Bears field goal kicker, who had made more than 50 attempts, has a better record than his on 84 from 99 tries in three seasons. "This is one of those opportunities that's once-in-a-lifetime and life-changing, and I'm just excited to have it," Gould told the team's Web site. "I'm excited that my hard work has paid off, but I'm definitely not done working hard and making field goals and kicking kickoffs. That's what I get paid to do," he added.
