Mischa Barton said she admires Aussie actress Cate Blanchett and loves the new hippie vibe in fashion, a Hong Kong magazine reports.

Barton's rich party girl character on "The O.C.," Marissa Cooper, was recently killed off in a car accident in the TV show.

The 20-year-old actress told Prestige Hong Kong magazine that her latest project was a film called "Closing the Ring," directed by Richard Attenborough and also starring Christopher Plummer and Neve Campbell.

Barton told the magazine she doesn't aspire to be like any other actress, "But I have plenty that I admire, and Cate Blanchett is one of them."

She said she liked a new hippie-inspired fashion trend in Los Angeles.

"The idea of doing beautiful sun dresses and flat sandals and lots of layers of jewelry and accessories," she reportedly said. "I am not big into the beachwear, sweat suit look. That is not really my vibe. What suits me is a little more rough around the edges."
