Hurricane Bill nears US after brush with Bermuda
EDGARTOWN, Mass. - A weakening Hurricane Bill spun northward Saturday, churning up rough seas, creating dangerous rip tides and closing beaches to swimmers up and down the eastern seaboard, including President Obama's vacation spot, Martha's Vineyard.

Hurricane Bill grows to major storm, should miss U.S.
MIAMI (Reuters) - Hurricane Bill, the first of the 2009 Atlantic season, strengthened into a Category 3 storm on Tuesday with top winds near 125 miles per hour (205 km per hour), the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Hurricane Bill gathers strength out in Atlantic
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - The first hurricane of this year's Atlantic season gathered force far out to sea Monday, while two weaker storm systems drenched the northeastern Caribbean and the Florida Panhandle with rain.
