Farrah Fawcett Dies of Cancer: Golden Girl Who Didn't Fade
Boy, did the 1970s ever need Farrah Fawcett. Watergate and the Nixon resignation, soaring crime rates and gas prices - bad news everywhere - had the nation in need of a tonic, or a diversion, which is almost as therapeutic. Who could have guessed it would come in the trim form of a Texas blonde with a no-quit smile? That would be Farrah Fawcett, or Farrah Fawcett-Majors, as she called herself in her prime. Coen brothers to remake John Wayne's 'True Grit'
LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Virtuoso film directors Joel and Ethan Coen will remake the classic 1960s western "True Grit," which earned American screen icon John Wayne an Academy Award, Hollywood media reported Monday.

Playwright, screenwriter Horton Foote dies at 92
NEW YORK - Playwright and screenwriter Horton Foote, who movingly portrayed the broken dreams of common people in "The Trip to Bountiful," "Tender Mercies" and his Oscar-winning screen adaptation of "To Kill a Mockingbird," died Wednesday in Connecticut, Paul Marte, a spokesman for Hartford Stage, said. He was 92.
